Vikings carried tons of gear with them when they set sail to explore the islands around them, and one of the most important tools they brought were knives and swords. The Set Sail Viking Seax Sword is a replica of a seax traditionally used by Vikings. These types of knives were characterized by a single edge and an organic handle. The longer side of this seax features a standard sharpening, and the other features a fuller running along the full length of the blade to lower and organize weight. The Set Sail Seax features a dual tone blade as the fuller has been accentuated by a dark lacquer paint which gives the sword a depth of design and makes it look a little weathered for a more authentic appearance. The handle on this sword is fully organic and composed of walnut wood with a section of bovine bone in the center. Each section is pinned to the tang inside the handle which not only makes the sword and tang more reliable, it means that the sections are durably fixed to the tang.
